As a company, Casper has set out to take the pain our of mattress shopping – a clunky experience which has long been dominated by just a couple of corporations.

We sat down with Casper co-founder Neil Parikh to learn more about how the company is taking on this problem and revolutionizing the consumer experience as a result.

"We honed in on the mattress industry because we knew it was a place where we could have a huge impact. Everything about the market is ripe for disruption, from the manufacturers to retailers. Picking something that isn't so sexy meant we could produce a solution ten times better than anything else out there.

"We think about the customer first – always – and then work backwards to think about how to fix their problem. We were inspired to compress mattresses into a box when we realized there was no way to get a king-size bed up four flights of stairs into a Brooklyn walkup!"
